S/2003 S1 Saturn Satellite Movie Images
These figures show the discovery images of the new Saturn satellite
S/2003 S1 taken at the Subaru 8.3 meter telescope about 1hour 38
minutes apart on UT February 5, 2003. The motion of the satellite
clearly stands out compared to the steady background of stars and
galaxies. The two images on the left are the same as those on the
right, but without identifying circles. Each panel is about 40
arcseconds wide. Saturn is not in the field, but is one degree to the
West (right) of these images.
